Fans of Shaquille O’Neal and the Wu Tang Clan have launched a Facebook campaign to try to get Shaq to dash to the Wilbur Theatre on Wednesday night, after the Celtics take on the 76ers, and perform “No Hook” with the Clan at the hip-hoppers’ “Rebirth” tour stop. You may recall that Shaq, RZA and Method Man collaborated on the truly awful tune for Shaq’s second album, “Shaq Fu: Da Return” in 1994. — Boston Herald

Boston Celtics big guy Shaquille O’Neal donned a Santa hat and hosted a holiday bash for the kids from the Roxbury Boys and Girls Club in Dedham yesterday and a very merry time was had by all. With his galpal Nicole “Hoopz” Alexander sitting on his lap like a regular Santa’s elf, the Big Man delivered toys to all the good girls and boys, played video games and dug into a big Italian buffet at the Buca di Beppo restaurant. O’Neal has been spreading holiday cheer to underprivileged kids in every city where he’s played ball since 1992 when his mother created the Shaq-A-Claus event. “I’ve been doing it ever since,” said No. 36, who has adopted the Roxbury Boys and Girls Club as his special concern since coming to Boston. Ladaun Spencer, 9, of Roxbury, passed Shaq a note at the party yesterday to thank the Celtics center for a new pair of shoes he gave her at Thanksgiving. After reading it, Shaq immediately invited Ladaun over for a hug. Later he donned a single white glove, a la Michael Jackson, and he and Hoopz challenged the kids to a “Thriller” dance off on the just-released Ubisoft game “Michael Jackson: The Experience.” Despite his ability to channel the “King of Pop, Shaq claimed video games aren’t part of his daily routine. “I haven’t played video games since Sega,” he told the Track. — Boston Herald

Shaquille O’Neal will be back at a shopping mall near you dressed as “Shaq-A-Claus.’’ The impromptu ho-ho-ho-down, like the aforementioned Harvard stunt last month, will be announced on Shaq’s Twitter page. But he won’t make like John Harvard this time. No. 36 told 98.5 FM’s Toucher & Rich yesterday that St. Shaqicholas will be dressed in “a green or red Santa Claus suit’’ and will only talk to kids. (A size XXXX green Santa suit? Seriously?) “We’ll take pictures,’’ the Jolly One told the morning team. “No autographs, no stories, just bring your kids. I’ll have the white beard and everything. “I’ll talk to kids, I don’t want to talk to adults because I’m Santa Claus. Ho, ho, ho,’’ he said. Apparently, Shaq doesn’t want to venture far in his Santa duds, so he said he expects to make his pop-up appearance “at a mall nearby where I live at, so it will probably be the mall down the street.’’ As in the Natick Collection. — Boston Herald

Hours after Shaq-a-Claus filled his sack at Toys ’R’ Us and donated his booty to Toys for Tots, he was on Beacon Hill belting out the “Cheers” theme song with patrons at the iconic watering hole. At lunchtime, apparently looking for something to do on his day off, No. 36 Tweeted: “I hv a day off, u no the song, meet me at the food place (downtown) ‘where no one knows ur name’ ill be there at 3pm.” Despite screwing up the lyrics, Shaq’s disciples knew where to go and were not disappointed when the big man appeared right on time clad in jeans, a polo shirt and, ahem, blue corduroy slippers. — Boston Herald

The MBTA is cheering Shaq’s plan to ride the T on Halloween dressed as a 7-foot-1, 345-pound woman named “Shaquita,” complete with a wig, dress and falsies. “He should take the Green line,” suggested MBTA General Manager Richard Davey, who counts himself among Shaq’s Twitter followers. “We’re gonna try to reach out to Shaq and give him a free Charlie Card to ride.
