DODGERS LEAVE KXTA
By Ben MallerLA.Radio.com first reported this morning and sources inside the Los Angeles Dodgers organization have confirmed to
BenMaller.com that the Dodger radio broadcasts will be moved to
KFWB 980am beginning in 2003.
KXTA 1150am got the Dodger Contract in 1998 the first of a five-year agreement. According to sources, the Dodgers were unhappy with the programming and the amount of changes that KXTA has made both in talent on air and in management.
Since the Dodgers have been on the air, Beau Bennett, Mike Thompson, Bill Pugh and David Hall have all had roles as program director. In afternoon drive, Joe McDonnell, The Dawg Pound, Arnie Spanier and D & A have rotated on the shift. All of these changes demonstrate a major lack of stability at the station.

KFWB 980am is a 24-hour News station owned by Infinity Broadcasting. Brett Lewis, Ted Sobel, Bill Seward and Joe Cala are the sportscasters.

Roggin Attacks KMPC
By Ben MallerKNBC Channel 4 SportsCaster
Fred Roggin appeared on the
"Conway & Steckler" radio show Monday night just after 10pm on KLSX 97.1 and attacked his new radio home. Roggin was on the show to talk about the "Dawg Pound" riot in Cleveland over the weekend.
Among other slams, Roggin admitted he did not know that the AM-Dial went up as far as 1540am. Roggin asked Conway and Steckler to appear as guests his first week on the show so, in Roggin's words, "someone will call." Roggin went on to take several more cheap shots at his new employer and the lack of listenership. According to Arbitron Ratings nobody listens to Sporting News radio, they have never shown up in a ratings book.
Roggin, at the end of the interview, admitted that he hopes to last longer than a week and get paid. No word from KMPC if Roggin will be punished for his comments.
