Palmeiro pondering libel suit?

Sources in Baltimore say Rafael Palmeiro is giving strong consideration to filing a libel suit against Jose Canseco according to the CHICAGO TRIBUNE.

Canseco alleges in his recently released book that Palmeiro is one of the players he personally injected with steroids while the two were teammates in Texas. Palmeiro, now playing for the Orioles, has had conversations with the law firm of Peter Angelos, who is the owner of the team.

If Palmeiro follows through with the legal action, it would be the first lawsuit resulting from Canseco's book that also impugns Mark McGwire and several other future Hall of Famers.
