Adam Sandler gave the Boston Bruins some serious product placement in his iconic 1996 film “Happy Gilmore,” that paid off in a large way this week.
The celebrity Bruins fan who wore the NHL teams jersey during his film, which included a legendary fight seen with game show host Bob Barker, got to hang with the Holy Grail of hockey.
The Boston Herald reports Milan Lucic, Johnny Boychuk, Gregory Campbell and Tuukka Rask visited Sandler on the Bean Town area set for his film “I Hate You, Dad” so he could hold the Stanley Cup.
Sandler is said to have grabbed the championship trophy, holding it over his head as he yelled, “This is awesome!,” as he sprinted up and down the Boston street.
