Rockies third highest paid player out for season

Jorge De La Rosa, who makes more than Rockies stars Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez COMBINED is out of the season. The DENVER POST reports the left-handed starting pitcher with a $10,000,000 salary has a “complete tear of his ulnar collateral ligament” in his left elbow. In other words, he likely needs “Tommy John surgery” on his left elbow, keeping him out a year. De La Rosa won 16 games in 2009, but was just 8-7 last season.
