A’s forced to turn MLB Network off clubhouse TV

Huston Street’s quote heard round the baseball world cause some uncomfortable moments in the Oakland clubhouse. The former A’s reliever, now with the Rockies, was quoted in the SF Chronicle as saying A’s manager Bob Geren “was my LEAST favorite person I have EVER encountered in sports” and “was never good at communication.” Those comments spread around the baseball world fast and furious, but it wasn’t until hours before the Athletics game in Anaheim that it got strange.

Street’s comment was a hot topic for MLB Network analysts on a big-screen TV in the middle of the clubhouse, and Gio Gonzalez walked by and said, “Somebody change the channel already.” Sweeney, who was sitting front and center, called the moment “awkward.”
