A memorial for an octopus which predicted the outcome of Germany’s World Cup matches has been unveiled at the aquarium where it lived and died. Paul became a household name during the 2010 football tournament. A statue honoring the creature is now on display at the Sea Life Aquarium in Oberhausen, Germany. The memorial, a 6ft-high plastic replica of Paul clutching a ball in his eight limbs, also holds his cremated ashes inside in an urn inside the ball. It was made after requests from fans around the world, aquarium spokeswoman Tanja Munzig said. The octopus, which died peacefully in October, correctly tipped the outcome of all seven of Germany’s games, and the Spain-Netherlands final. — Sky News
