WAC Sports Network will show basketball games

Western Athletic Conference commissioner Karl Benson said Monday that the conference’s WAC Sports Network will expand coverage to basketball games. “I think the reaction has been very positive,” Benson said. “We hear good things every week from fans around the region that have had an opportunity to see games they haven’t been used to seeing over the air. We think that the quality of the broadcasts have been very, very good, the presentation has been very good and it’s been a very, very good branding tool.” The WSN has broadcast seven games so far this season, including Nevada’s contest at Hawaii on Oct. 16. The network has had to work out some kinks, but that’s to be expected given the fairly hurried process in which it was created. — Reno Gazette-Journal
