College Football teams struggle after overtime loss

After losing to Michigan State on Sept. 18 on a fake field goal in overtime, Notre Dame gave Stanford little resistance in a 37-14 defeat. This wasn’t a new experience for the Irish: In 2008, after a demoralizing quadruple-overtime loss to Pittsburgh, the Irish listlessly lost the next week at Boston College, 17-0. But Notre Dame is hardly the only team that has struggled to bounce back from an OT loss. Earlier this season, Marshall missed out on its first-ever victory over rival West Virginia, losing in overtime. The Thundering Herd then lost by two touchdowns the following week to underdog Bowling Green. — Wall Street Journal
