Titans’ LeGarrette Blount surprised by sudden release

On Saturday, LeGarrette Blount celebrated. The undrafted rookie running back made the Titans’ 53-man roster after a week of worrying he was going to be cut. Less than 24 hours later, Blount learned a cruel side to the NFL. He was one of two players the Titans released Sunday when they claimed linebackers Tim Shaw (Bears) and Patrick Bailey (Steelers) off waivers. “It was my first time to go through this process, and it’s been extremely stressful. I didn’t know what to expect,” Blount said. “I really felt (Saturday) the whole process was over, so I was extremely excited. I didn’t know this could happen. But it did so I have to deal with it.” — Tennessean
