Asked if he would like to finish his career in Minnesota, Torii Hunter said, “I’m having a great time in L.A., the fans have treated me well, they brought me in with open arms, so I definitely would give them first dibs. “I love Minnesota. When I was a free agent, I never wanted to leave. I never said anything bad about Minnesota. But they never negotiated with me. “I was actually kicked out, so the Angels will get dibs. It was a different era then, a different mentality. Now you have (owner) Jim Pohlad, you have a new stadium, you’re winning. This isn’t a small market anymore, and I was just there at the wrong time. I was there when there was a small-market mentality.” — Pioneer Press
