NFL scion and up-and-coming actress Rooney Mara yesterday scored the role of her young lifetime when studio bigwigs tabbed her to play the lead in “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.” The great-granddaughter of Giants founder Tim Mara and Pittsburgh Steelers founder Art Rooney will star opposite Daniel Craig in the English-language remake of the popular book and film franchise, Sony Pictures announced. The role of the binge-drinking, bisexual Lisbeth Salander had been one of the most recently sought after jobs in Hollywood — with the likes of Ellen Page, Natalie Portman and Emma Watson among those reportedly up for it. — NY Post
