The Padres returned from a road trip to see a damaged playing field. Who’s responsible, none other than a bunch of comic book geeks.
The San Diego Union-Tribune had the details:
Petco Park’s outfield grass was discolored and worn thin in spots as a result of an awards ceremony held as part of Comic-Con festivities while the Padres were on their most recent road trip.
I’m guessing Superman, Batman and Spiderman were too busy to take of the field. Maybe Homer Simpson will help the grounds crew.
